Tim Haft, President, Punk Rope
:: Certifications
ACE Certified Personal Trainer
USA Track & Field

Tim Haft is certified as a personal trainer by the American Council on Exercise (since 1998), as a track coach by USA Track & Field, and as a stability ball instructor by Resist-A-Ball. He's a member of AAHPERD, the New York City Coalition for Food and Fitness, and USA Jump Rope. In addition, Tim holds a BA in history from the University of Virginia and an MA in sociology from New York University.

But Tim doesn't care much for credentials. He's purely interested in action and results. In fall 2004 Tim created Punk Rope to help fill what he perceived to be a void in the group fitness arena.

Punk Rope, which playfully mashes up recess and boot camp, requires little equipment, involves no choreography, and is not fueled by traditional "fitness" music. Punk Rope is about honoring our innate desire to play, building community, and celebrating the power and spirit of rock and roll. Punk Rope is for everybody, from young children to senior citizens, and it happens everywhere from community centers to college rec centers to health clubs to schools to skating rinks and beyond.

You can learn more about Punk Rope at www.punkrope.com.

Shelley Devine brings a holistic approach to exercise with the intent to empower fitness practitioners by inspiring their highest potential through natural movement. She has a unique background centered in the martial arts, yoga and healing arts where she studied the human energetic system. After working along with clients in these three arts, she discovered that three components were critical to overall health and wellbeing. Through a lifetime of practice it became apparent that her own body’s recovery response to injury and illness was achieved consistently by physical movement, energetic balance and mindful breathing. Shelley loves to inspire all levels of fitness practitioners to move beyond their comfort zone mentally, physically and even spiritually! It cracks her up when a student says over and over again “I can’t do it” then suddenly they just did it, then use that experience during their workout as a metaphor for whatever unexpected daily life tasks that arise! Its truly satisfying when students realize there is nothing more energizing than running in open fields, up and down hills, breathing fresh air and achieving greater strength, endurance, agility, balance , mobility, flexibility, muscle tone and inner soul stamina while enjoying the great outdoors! It is her privilege to bring this to You!
